Sales Tax District No. 1 Proposition
(City and Parish Roads Sales Tax)
Shall Sales Tax District No. 1 of the Parish of Natchitoches, State of Louisiana (the "District") whose boundaries are the Parish of Natchitoches excluding the area within the Town of Campti, be authorized to levy and collect for a period of ten (10) years from and after April 1, 2017, a tax of one-half percent (1/2%) (the "Tax") upon the sale at retail, the use, the lease or rental, the consumption, and the storage for use or consumption, of tangible personal property and on sales of services within the District as defined by law, (an estimated $3,250,000 expected at this time to be collected from the levy of the Tax for an entire year), with the proceeds thereof (after paying the expenses of collecting and administering the Tax), to be dedicated for construction, improving and maintaining public infrastructure within the District with one-half of such Tax revenues collected within the City of Natchitoches being expended for the construction, improving and maintaining of roads, bridges and drainage systems within the City of Natchitoches and the remainder of the proceeds of the Tax being expended for the construction, improving and maintaining of roads and bridges in the remainder of the District?
