Sales Tax District No. 4 Proposition
Shall Sales Tax District No. 4 of the Parish of Lafourche, State of Louisiana (the "District"), be authorized pursuant to La. R.S. 47:338.54.1 to reinstate the levy and collection of the one percent (1%) sales and use tax (the "Tax"), commencing January 1, 2019, upon the sale at retail, the use, the lease or rental and the storage or consumption of tangible personal property and on sales of services in the District, which Tax was previously authorized to be levied in perpetuity in the District pursuant to an election held on September 27, 1986, and which is presently being levied in the amount of seventy hundredths of one percent (0.70%) (an estimated $8,500,000 reasonably expected at this time to be collected from the levy of the full one percent (1%) of the Tax for an entire year), for paying the cost of constructing, acquiring, maintaining and operating solid waste collection and disposal facilities and closing garbage dumps for the entire District, and further, shall the avails or proceeds thereof be subject to funding into bonds for such purposes as provided by Sub-Part F, Part III, Chapter 4, Title 39 of the Louisiana Revised Statutes?
