Consolidated Gravity Drainage District No. 1 (West Calcasieu) Proposition
(Drainage Tax)
Shall Consolidated Gravity Drainage District No. 1 (West Calcasieu) of Calcasieu Parish, Louisiana (the "District") be authorized to levy, and collect a tax of four and 50/100 (4.50) mills on all the property subject to taxation within the District for a period of ten (10) years beginning on January 1, 2022, in lieu of and replacing the District's existing millages, and to lower the rate of tax authorized for the District by repealing the current authority to levy rates in its respective component districts of: 10.00, 4.78, and 9.27 mills, respectively, with collections from this levy estimated to be six million dollars for one entire year, for the purposes of improving drainage, including maintaining and constructing drains, drainage canals, dikes and levees, and the purchase or maintenance of equipment used in maintaining or constructing drains, outfalls, levees or pumping stations in the District, and to dedicate additional funds to capital projects to improve drainage?
