Parishwide School Board Proposition
(Millage Renewal)
Shall the Parish School Board of the Parish of Jefferson, Louisiana (the "School Board"), continue to levy a special tax of eight and seventy-five hundredths (8.75) mills (the "Tax") on all property subject to taxation within the Parish of Jefferson (an estimated $34,635,000 reasonably expected at this time to be collected from the levy of the Tax for an entire year), for a period of ten (10) years, beginning with the year 2022 and ending with the year 2031, for the following purposes on an annual basis: (i) for funding salary increases granted since October 4, 2003 for teachers of the Jefferson Parish School System, including benefits related thereto and (ii) the balance each year, if any, for providing funding for teacher salaries and benefits related to early childhood development through Pre-K4 and/or funding teacher salaries and benefits related to extending the school day/year for low performing students and/or schools?
