Town of Arcadia Proposition No. 1 of 2
(Sales Tax Renewal)
Shall the Town of Arcadia, State of Louisiana (the "Town"), be authorized to continue to levy and collect a tax of one-half percent (0.50%) (the "Tax") (an estimated $390,679 reasonably expected at this time to be collected from the levy of the Tax for an entire year), upon the sale at retail, the use, the lease or rental, the consumption and the storage for use or consumption, of tangible personal property and on sales of services in the Town, all as defined by law, in perpetuity, beginning January 1, 2023, with the avails or proceeds of the Tax (after paying the reasonable and necessary expenses of collecting and administering the Tax) to be dedicated and used as follows: (i) building, constructing, improving and maintaining public roads and drainage facilities in the Town (but no proceeds will be used for salaries) and (ii) the supplemental collection and disposal of solid waste within and for the Town which is not currently being collected by other governmental agencies, including the payment of contracts providing therefor and acquiring, constructing, improving, maintaining and operating equipment and facilities necessary therefor (but no proceeds will be used for salaries)?
