Town of Arcadia Proposition No. 2 of 2
(Sales Tax Renewal)
Shall the Town of Arcadia, State of Louisiana (the "Town"), be authorized to continue to levy and collect a tax of one percent (1%) (the "Tax") (an estimated $781,358 reasonably expected at this time to be collected from the levy of the Tax for an entire year), upon the sale at retail, the use, the lease or rental, the consumption and the storage for use or consumption, of tangible personal property and on sales of services in the Town, all as defined by law, in perpetuity, beginning January 1, 2023, with the avails or proceeds of the Tax (after paying the reasonable and necessary expenses of collecting and administering the Tax) to be dedicated and used as follows: (a) 30% for constructing, paving, resurfacing and/or maintaining public streets in the Town; (b) 10% for acquiring, maintaining, improving and supporting parks and recreation programs in and for the Town, including facilities and equipment therefor; (c) 10% for industrial construction, inducement and/or procurement, including purchasing land for an industrial park; and (d) 50% for general operating revenue for the Town?
