Wedgewood Crime Prevention and Improvement District Proposition
(Parcel Fee Renewal)
Shall the Wedgewood Crime Prevention and Improvement District (the "District"), be authorized to continue to levy and collect an annual parcel fee on each improved residential and improved commercial parcel within the District for a period of 10 years, beginning in 2027 and ending in 2036, in the amount not to exceed $95 per year per parcel zoned residential and $250 per parcel zoned commercial, subject to increase as provided in La. R.S. 33:9097.3, provided said fee does not exceed $150 per year per parcel zoned residential and $400 per year per parcel zoned commercial, with the proceeds of the parcel fee (after deducting administrative costs) to be used to aid in crime prevention and to add to the security of District residents by enhancing security within the District by providing an increase in the presence of law enforcement personnel in the District and an increase in security patrols in the District, to beautify and improve the common areas within the District, and to provide for the overall betterment of the District (an estimated $60,825 reasonably expected at this time to be collected from the levy of the fee for the initial year)?
